Launched new gender-affirming care program from the ground up at college health center, including:

• Informed consent documents outlining risks and benefits of hormone therapy and patient and provider responsibilities. I synthesized clinical guidelines, guidance from relevant professional organizations, and documents used by peer institutions to create these documents which form the backbone of the program. I was able to get rapid approval from the medical director due to my thorough research and clear presentation.
• Quick start guide to support providers’ decision-making and remove perceived barriers to prescribing. Prescribing providers use these tools to keep doses, formulas, contraindications, and monitoring parameters accessible.
• Best practices education document for our clinical team in collaboration with consultants from the trans community. Every team member from the front-office staff to senior leadership uses this tool.
• EHR templates (Medicat) to assist in proper coding and documentation and consistent practice among providers.
• Analysis of EHR data including diagnosis codes and prescriptions to follow trends in access and utilization. In the fall semester of 2023, 150 unique visits included gender-affirming care.
• Qualitative assessment of satisfaction on campus through interviews and discussion with trans student groups.
